270/48
Having moved to Germany for all the wrong reasons, I dreaded most of my time so I invested #AllMyCa$h in music in order to cope. JA WOHL! At the time I came across one of these and I found it such a beautiful instrument that I thought I must have one. Initially I wasn't all that excited in spending so much dough in such small instrument, after all, I always thought of the harmonica as this Bob Dylan limited single scaled blues instrument. Till I heard Philip Achille and Rachelle Plas killing it on the blower! So I found one at a fair price and I plunged for it. When I got I just thought "am I sticking this germ collector on my mouth?" - no way José, so I took every little piece apart and gave it a good clean, and that's how I discover this inner progressive ramps that push the air against the plastic tip that produces the note. And from there I wonder how other elements react when facing this ramps, specifically how light travels through it. And I just started exploring from there and 270/48 was born.

botão
botão creates hypothetical conceptual scenarios built around a familiar object that usually has no social, political, nor cultural consequences of behaviors.
it consists in a metal button that can be pressed but has no further obvious consequences or function.
The idea is to create something that resembles a button in every way as eficient and functional directioned but deprive it from all its function. My button might disapoint a lot of people by not doing anything but how many won't question the existence of a useless button that only exists to make you question that exact question? #WhatIsHeTalkingAbout
A button is also something quite omnipresent. In your cellphone, or on your watch or your laptop or any turn-on switch in any electrnical device. They always have a purpouse.

"(…) Whether openly and actively or in subtle, subliminal ways, things talk to us. Tangible and intangible, and at all scales—from the spoon to the city, the government, and the Web, and from buildings to communities, social networks, systems, and artificial worlds—things communicate.
Thus far, 21st-century culture is centered on interaction: “I communicate, therefore I am” is the defining affirmation of contemporary existence (...).
Interface and interaction design delineate the behavior of products and systems as well as the experiences that people will have with them. (…)"

This was my own take at #WorkWithoutAuthor. I'm always keen in bringing new technologies to the game, so I decided to make full use of - at the time new to me - 3D printers. I created a rather basic 3D polygon, which I then programmed the machine to randomize certain points. Turn those STLs into Gcodes and it was like hot bread coming out of John Pru$a's Bakery.
so the latter creative and productive stages of the process did not have any human touch. The question is still out there: who's the father of the child? #ChaveD'ouro
for the exposition a support was needed and the best solution was by designing them through a similar process.
